Artist Statement:

My goal as an artist is to bring a feeling of nature into people’s homes. I love the wild and especially trees. I hand twist aluminum wire into the shape of different kinds of trees. I put them on a background of live edge wood. I feel my work is creating art in collaboration with nature, because there is no way I can create the shapes, colors, grain patterns that nature can. I’ve been making the trees for 50 years. 10 years ago, after 30 years of furniture making I added the wood backgrounds. I like the added dimension and richness it affords.
