Children’s Gallery

Children's Creation Station and Gallery | Midwest Salute to the Arts Festival

Children’s Gallery Offers Kids-Only Shopping!

Where can kids buy art without mom or dad nudging them toward something they like?  Only at the Midwest Salute to the Arts Children’s Gallery.

The Children’s Gallery was designed to foster an interest in art at an early age. Children ages 5-13 enter the gallery and choose a piece of art, free from parental influence.  After the child has selected a piece, they are encouraged to visit the artist who created their piece to find out how it was created. The cost to enter the gallery is $10.

Plan to stop by the Gallery opening at 10am on Saturday, August 24th to let your little ones start their own art collection, or, add to it!  Gallery will be open until all art has been disbursed.

7th Annual Student Art Link Exhibit

The Midwest Salute to the Arts and the Fairview Heights Parks & Recreation are inviting all students, K-8th grade, to participate in the Midwest Salute to the Arts’ “Student Art Link” this August.

Students decide their theme and may use any medium: pen & ink, pencil, markers, colored pencils, oil paint, watercolor, etc. to create their masterpiece. All submitted art will be laminated and hung on the fence at Moody Park during the 31st Midwest Salute to the Arts, August 23th—25th , 2019.

Artwork should be no larger than 8½”x 11” and the student’s first name, grade, and school name should be on the back side. It may not depict violence, drug or alcohol references, or inappropriate language. Submissions are limited to (1) per student. Artwork may be turned in at the School Office before the end of the school year, or taken to the Fairview Heights Library, or the Parks & Recreation Office (behind City Hall), before August 20, 2019.

All submitted artwork will become the property of The Midwest Salute to the Arts. At the end of the event, pictures will be donated to “Mail Call Masterpieces”, an outreach project that sends the artwork to deployed military personnel.
