Artist Statement:
After retiring from a career of road construction at the age of 62 I picked up the art of wood turning. It didn’t take me long to know that something from the ordinary wood turning was something that I wanted to do. I enjoy taking a piece of wood from a log and making a piece of art with the natural beauty of the wood. Then I got into segmenting. Starting out with a few hundred segments per piece, then evolving into bowls and vessels with several thousand segments. I then started taking wood that couldn’t be used for turning and fusing it with different colors of resin to make a one of a kind eye catching pieces of art. So we will see what comes up next.
