A son of America’s rural heartland, I was first exposed to pottery by potters during travels from Japan to Southeast Asia, while serving in the Navy.  Upon return to civilized life, I studied ceramics  under Professor Russ Schmaljohn at Northwest Missouri State University.  Now after over a five decade relationship with clay, I ma still fascinated with its possibilities.

I have sold my work at quality art shows throughout the country for over thirty years.  I concentrate on good form and texture, keeping my color palate simple.  The raku process delivers what I am looking for.
