BIO:

Art has always vacillated between an obsession and a passion for me. During the demands of my career as a counselor and therapist, time for art was mostly limited to appreciation and observation, rather than production.  During that time, interactions with clients provided a further understanding of the ways people think, react and cope with everyday personal and social issues.  Since retirement, those observations have lingered, and have been an impetus for the nature and themes of my work now, guiding pieces to contain elements of contradiction and whimsy, providing the opportunity for art enthusiasts to relax and smile as they encounter my work.

With a passionate concern for the ecological weight of waste pollution, my mixed media pieces all contain recycled, upcycled and salvaged items to experience a new life and evoke a smile.

Artist Statement:

Pieces incorporate recycled/reclaimed items and are constructed out of heavy wire, wood or other clad in epoxy clay, solder, wood, or a combination of all three.
