I sculpt stone to extract your right brain emotions.
I am Luwanika Mlera, a self-taught stone sculptor based in Lake St Louis, MO.
My sculptures are hand-carved from various serpentines although I can use lepidolite or dolomite when I find it. My sculptures are intended to provoke your wow! Be warned, they will talk to you!
When not sculpting, I might be thinking and/or working on viruses, biology, riding my mountain bike or taking pictures of interesting things on my phone.

Artist Statement:
Serpentine stones are hand-carved by hammer and chisels. Surface texture is generated by differential filing with rasps and sandpapering. Color is enhanced by sanding under water & heating and waxing.
