Artist Statement:

My artwork is the silver lining of my MS diagnosis, and without it I would have never known I could create such paintings. It was a chance
happening when needing to find an outlet to express my emotions from my diagnosis and everything that comes with it. Now more than ever, my paintings will continue to be a form of therapy as I underwent
a craniotomy at the end of this March, due to several brain tumors.

Painting allows me to pour my emotions onto the canvas,
with my hands and body covered in paint, often with
tears rolling down my face. I find such a calming
effect in this artwork and put my emotions into each
painting. The release this process provides for me is unreal.

My paintings are not planned out ahead of time, just the
colors based upon emotions. All paintings are named after
final completion after lying next to them, as then I can
find the meaning in each one providing the proper title.
My artwork is about relieving my pain and emotions. This
started out as “therapy” and ended up being my purpose,
allowing me to live with intention again, while at the same
time relieving my pain. My paintings are one-of-a-kind
pieces that cannot be replicated, which I hope brings meaning
and purpose to the future owner. I firmly believe each painting
already has a home; it is just waiting for that person to find it.

My artwork is about relieving my pain and emotions, while
being able to provide the consumer with some sort of emotion
or relief to them, and calming effect with a personal meaning.
When doing commissions, I always ask to meet with the future
owner to get an idea of their current feelings and energy to make
sure the painting is personalized as best as it can be for them.
