Artist Statement:
Beth Rosenkoetter has been an artist all her life. She took the leap into pottery over 25 years ago and hasn’t looked back. Due to her long-standing interest in biology and nature, Beth’s degree is a Bachelor of Science in Art. The natural world is her focus using simplified colors and forms to create a little life for each piece of work.
She has worked in non-profit organizations across the country as an instructor of pottery and other media for 20 years.
Beth uses porcelain for her painted pieces and stoneware of various types for limited other work. She makes her own glazes and fires her work in an electric kiln as ‘mid-fire’, roughly 2200 degrees, making all her functional work food safe, dishwasher safe and microwave safe.
Beth lives in a small town in the Ozarks in southern Missouri with her favorite person and their two dogs.
Artist Statement:
Functional hand thrown pottery made out of porcelain with decorative floral designs or animal images in underglaze or a buff stoneware glazed with an inhouse glaze. All functional ware is food safe.
