Bio:
Gaucha Berlin earned her degree in Graphic Design at the Lette Verein in Berlin, Germany where she lived and worked for more than 20 years. Her work has been featured in numerous publications and she has exhibited extensively in Berlin. She has created public works throughout her life that range from restaurant chalkboards in South Africa to storefront installations in Kreuzberg, the heart of Berlin.
In 2010 she relocated to the United States where she immediately landed on Cherokee Street in Saint Louis, MO. It was there that she began her contribution to the local ART scene. Within six months of her arrival she was selected for the first solo exhibition at the SOHA gallery in Saint Louis.
Gaucha Berlin finds inspiration for her work from everyday life as well as her journeys as a world traveler. Her love for nature arose at a very young age. This love originated through daily hikes in the forest with her father, who himself was a nature enthusiast and photographer. On the first day of school, at the age of seven, she received a camera as a gift from her dad. A gift that would change her life.
Her current work as a photographer is an in-depth documentation of nature with a focus on botanicals. She finds great pleasure in revealing a world, hidden underneath the obvious.
